Below is all about real-life Jawahar Rastogi shown in Secor 36.

Who is Jawahar Rastogi shown in Netflix's Sector 36?

Jawahar Rastogi is played by actor Darshan Jariwala in Sector 36. When the movie started Jawahar Rastogi was serving as DCP Shahdara and probing a kidnapping case of a businessman's son. The movie has showcased Jawahar Rastogi's link with Balbir Singh Bassi. Balbir Singh Bassi was a Karnal-based businessman who owned a house in Delhi where multiple children were raped, murdered, and mutilated. When Sub-Inspector Ram Charan Pandey visited Balbir Bassi's house to probe about a missing girl named Chunni, he called Jawahar Rastogi. In response, Jawahar Rastogi gave an earful to Ram Charan Pandey and asked him to stop harassing Balbir Bassi and leave the missing children case. Interestingly, after solving the kidnapping case of a businessman's son, Jawahar Rastogi was promoted to another branch.

The movie has showcased that Jawahar Rastogi was promoted to an investigative agency 'IBI'. Interestingly, it can be said that 'IBI' is the fictional name of CBI used by the makers. Interestingly, when the entire case came to light and Balbir Singh Bassi was arrested, the case was given to 'IBI'. The movie showcased that 'IBI' was headed by none other than Jawahar Rastogi, who had close ties with the accused Balbir Bassi.

Who is real life Jawahar Rastogi?

The makers did not reveal the real name of Jawahar Rastogi. However, if you dive deep into the Nithrari Killings case, you will find what the CBI had said about Moninder Singh Pandher 'real life Balbir Singh Bassi'.

NDTV posted an interview on YouTube which was graced by Arun Kumar who headed the CBI investigation into the Nithari Case. During the interview, Arun Kumar said, "Let me explain the things in perspective. There are two accused, one is Surinder Koli and another one is Moninder Singh Pandher. As far as Moninder Singh Pandher is concerned the line of investigation of CBI has been vindicated by this judgement. In the case of Moninder Singh Pandher we said that he had no knowledge of murder ...We had charge-sheeted him only for 201 destruction of evidence and immoral trafficking act where he had used some prostitutes and things like that. Other than that we never said that he had any knowledge of the murder. We never charge-sheeted him on murder and all that.

I remember the lower court suo moto made him the accused and the day when he was in Australia when the murder was committed. He was convicted in that particular case.
