Camila Cabello is robbing her body shamers of their power. In a recent interview with Bustle, the singer discussed how facing the hate head-on gave her the confidence boost she needed when unedited paparazzi images of her wearing a bikini on the beach began to leak on the internet, and how confronting the hate gave her the confidence boost she needed.
Cabello was seen in a blue tie-dye swimming suit in June, and she recounted unexpectedly stumbling over critical remarks in response to the photos while scrolling through social media. Camila Cabello recalled, "This hurts so much." "I was insecure the entire day. It seemed to be altering the way I thought about food and eating, which was really bothering me.""You're definitely messing with my head." She was body-shamed again a month later after running in a shirt that showed her stomach, but this time she didn't take it lying down.

She stated of the video, "I honestly felt so liberated when I shared that." "After that, I went to the airport and a lot of women approached me and said, 'I watched that TikTok and it really connected with me.' My body anxieties really decreased after I tweeted it because I was like, 'No matter what pictures come out or what people say, I'm now controlling the narrative.’"

She went on to add that after going to therapy, she's realised that "you can work out for a couple hours a day and never eat carbohydrates or anything, but it's just not a balanced existence." That's not what I'm looking for." Cabello also stated that she will not modify her appearance in order to avoid being body shamed. "I'm going to wear whatever I want, and if there are photographers around, well, that's unfortunate, but I'm not going to entirely ignore them.”
Camila also stated in a new interview with Bustle that she dresses to suit herself, not to impress any waiting paparazzi.
"I'm going to wear anything," the singer told in an interview, "and if there are photographers around, it sucks, but I'm not going to entirely reroute who I am for that." "You can exercise for a couple hours a day and never eat carbs and whatever, but that's just not a balanced life. That's not what I want... I can't change to fit that mould.”
The Havana singer is frequently photographed with her mother, Sinuhe Estrabao, and her popstar boyfriend, Shawn Mendes.
Camila has instead chosen to live her life by her new mantra — "being at war with your body is so last season" — and not be concerned with what others think.
