Pune: Seven members of a Karnataka-based family died on the spot when their jeep dashed with a roadside tree near Kashil village in Satara district here this morning.
According to police, the driver lost control over his vehicle, when he reached near Gandhinagar area and dashed with a roadside tree, resulting in the death of two men, as many women and three minor children.
Assistant Police Inspector of Borgaon police station Chandrakant Mali said the victims belonged of one Nizamudeen Saudagar family of Dhariwad village in Karnataka.

They boarded a jeep in Karad taluka to proceed towards Satara district but met with the accident at Kashil village.
The driver received severe injuries in his head and was admitted to the district hospital in Satara, Mr. Mali added.
He said the process of the identification of the deceased was on and police have intimated the victims' family about the incident.
