Pakistan Cricket Team speedster Shaheen Afridi is all set to start new innings off the field. Yes! you heard it right. The 22-year-old speedster is all set to marry Shahid Afridi's daughter Ansha Afridi. As per Pakistani media reports, Shaheen Afridi's marriage will be concluded before PSL 8 starts. Pakistani media reports quoted former cricketer Shahid Afridi saying that Ansha and Shaheen's Nikkah will be on February 3. The nikkah ceremony shall happen in Karachi as per the traditions of the Afridi tribes. Furthermore, the formal wedding and rukhsati ceremony will be later, it is believed. Post the wedding, Shaheen will go to Lahore and join the Lahore Qalandars team camp to prepare for PSL 8. Notably, Shaheen is not playing at the moment as a result of fitness problems and is undergoing rehab at the National High-Performance Center.

It is pertinent to mention here that Shaheen Shah Afridi engaged to Ansha around two years back and the pacer earlier revealed that it was his wish to marry Afridi’s daughter. Shahid Afridi earlier confirmed that Shaheen will be his son-in-law. He said his family has accepted the wedding proposal. "Both families are in touch, matches are made in heaven if Allah wills this match will be made too. My prayers are with Shaheen for his continued success on and off the field," Shahid Afridi was quoted saying this. Shaheen is currently off the field due to a surgical procedure and a knee injury and his return to international cricket will be subject to the fast bowler’s successful completion of the rehabilitation programme.
Coming to PSL, Shaheen plays Lahore Qalandars alongside Haris Rauf, Fakhar Zaman, Afghan Rashid Khan, Abdullah Shafique, David Wiese, Kamran Ghulam, Harry Brook, Jordan Cox, Liam Dawson, Sikandar Raza, Hussain Talat, Dilbar Hussain, Tahir Baig, Ahmed Daniyal, Shawaiz Irfan and Jalat Khan. The HBL PSL 8 will run from Feb 9 to March 19, 2023.
