After delivering a power-packed performance in Amazon Prime Video's series Farzi, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is all set to make his comeback on the big screens with his movie Deva. Shahid Kapoor was recently featured in a podcast with Raj Shamani and opened up about his heartbreaks, early life, and relationships. However, what raised everyone's eyebrows when Shahid Kapoor narrated how he was made to feel lesser before the movie Kabir Singh. While Shahid did not mention any actor or actress, the actor's narration is being linked to Padmaavat which also featured Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
On being asked he ever felt lesser in his life, Shahid Kapoor said, "It happened with me before Kabir Singh. I won't go into the specifics but I was made to feel like I am lesser as an artist, as a star, as an individual. I was put into such a situation where I feel that I am less. This thing I will never accept. It's like your clothes are better than mine. It's a comparison. Sometimes life puts you in a situation where it plays out in a way that somebody is in your close proximity and you are made to feel lesser. It's nobody's fault, I am not getting into that.
That is what I went through for some time. I was made to feel like that. I fought it because I am a survivor. I have learned from my life that I am a survivor. I come out of such situations. My friend once told me that I am nimble-footed and I don't get stuck in any situation. I told myself at that time 'No Shahid don't let this define you'. Nobody should define you. You should define yourself."
It is clear that Shahid Kapoor did not name anyone. However, a social media user shared the clip of the video claiming that Shahid was talking about one of his movies Padmaavat.
It is pertinent to mention here that Padmaavat was released in 2018 just 1 year before Kabir Singh. Based on the epic poem of the same name by Malik Muhammad Jayasi, Padmaavat featured Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, wife of Maharawal Ratan Singh, played by Shahid Kapoor. Sultan Alauddin Khilji, played by Ranveer Singh. In the end, Shahid Kapoor dies during his face off with Ranveer Singh in the movie. Notably, True Scoop cannot verify the fact whether Shahid Kapoor's hint was at Deepika and Ranveer.
