After having fought with Covid-19 for the past one month, Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Varinderpal Singh (52) died of Covid-19 on the wee hours of Sunday.
As per information, on February 8, DSP Varinderpal Singh was diagnosed with mild fever and then after few hours on the same day doctors declared him Covid positive. Since then, he was admitted in a private hospital in Ludhiana.
“Few days back due to multiple organ failure, he was shifted to a ventilator. Doctors told the family members of DSP Varinderpal that his lungs couldn't recover”, says sources while adding that he failed to respond to the treatment and breathed his last on Sunday at 3.48 am.
Singh is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. His cremation was held today between 12-12.30 PM at Sarabha Nagar in Ludhiana.
Meanwhile, confirming the report of the death of DSP Varinderpal, Punjab Police official page on Facebook posted message, which reads, “We regret to inform about the unfortunate demise of our DSP Shahkot Varinderpal Singh after fighting a month-long battle against #COVID. May the departed soul rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family”.
