Delhites woke up to tremors after a 4.0 magnitude eartquake was reported in the Shamili district of western UP and another one which was far away in Tajikistan in central Asia.
According to United States Geological Survey at around 7:05 am, an earthquake of 4.6 magnitude had struck Tajikistan. Soon after which an earthquake was reported from Kandhla in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli, 90 km from Delhi. The depth of the earthquake in Kandhla was 10 km.
Soon after the earthquake people took to Twitter tweeting that they felt the tremor. In minutes, #earthquake became the top trend on Twitter.
