The greatest spinner of all the time, Shane Warne passed away at the age of 52. The news of his death was confirmed by his management. In the statement, it is stated that “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
Inarguably the best leg-spinner in cricket, Shane Warne has created many magical moments on the pitch, mesmerising players with his craft and bamboozling many batters with his brilliance.
Talking about his personal life, Warne had three children with his former wife Simone Callahan. The couple were married from 1995 to 2005. Following his split from Simone Callahan, Warne dated English actress Elizabeth Hurley.
His affair with Hurley was notable one of high profile romance. Shane Warne and Hurley were engaged in 2011. On 16 December 2013, Hello magazine reported that the couple had decided to split.
In 2012, Hurley and Warne bought the Grade II listed mansion Donnington Hall, near Ledbury, Herefordshire as their main home. She has remained living there since their separation.
"We finally parted ways in November (2013) and it was a very sad time for both of us," she told HELLO!. "I struggled for a while but feel in a very good place today. In fact, both professionally and personally everything is blooming."
Born to German-born Bridgette and Keith Warne on September 13, 1969, in Upper Ferntree Gully, Victoria, Warne produced magic even after retiring from international cricket. His influence was evident when he led an unheralded Rajasthan Royals, with no big-name cricketers in their ranks, to the title in the inaugural Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament in 2008. He mentored the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Yusuf Pathan, Swapnil Asnodkar and Kamran Khan, coaxing them to perform their best for the Royals.
