Bollywood singer Shankar Mahadevan is widely adored and followed for his songs in the world. Shankar Mahadevan's song titled Breathless is one of the most loved songs in the Indian community. However, the 56-year-old singer came under the scanner of social media after he attended RSS's Vijaydashmi event in Nagpur as a chief guest. The veteran singer not only attended the RSS event but he also lauded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for 'protecting' India's culture and tradition and 'preserving the ideology of Akhand Bharat'.
After Shankar Mahadevan's RSS speech, many fans on social media took to their official X handle and expressed their displeasure over the singer's remarks. A few also vented their frustration and disappointment over Mahadevan's love for the RSS. However, many fans on social media backed the singer and slammed the fans who started trolling him after 'Shankar Mahadevan RSS' speech.
Reacting to Shankar Mahadevan RSS visit, a user wrote, "Bigot Identified ! Why My childhood idols are turning out to be trashed - be it him Amitabh Bachhan , or Sachin Tendulkar !"
Another user wrote, "Since you are a Sanghi they invited,what did your RSS did for our country for you to say you are honoured, honoured because you have been included in the list of haters. Country is watching you hate mongers . We need love not hate Mr Sanker."

What did Shankar Mahadevan say?
On being invited as a chief guest at the RSS event, Shankar Mahadevan was quoted saying, "I want to extend my greetings to everyone on the occasion of Vijayadashami. I am very honoured & privileged that I have been welcomed as a chief guest at this function. I want to thank the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and the entire Swayamsevak Sangh family...I am very excited to attend this program..."
During his Mahadevan further said, "What can I say on it? I can only salute you. The contribution of the RSS is greater than anyone in preserving our ideology of 'Akhand Bharat,' our traditions, our culture....Praying for every human being's peace. This is what our country is."
