Today, on October 7, the festive season has been started with Navratri 2021. It is a nine-day-long festival and Navratri literally means “nine nights”. During these nine days and nights, people worship Maa Durga, observe fast and celebrate the nine manifestations of feminine power as Durga represents feminine power.
On October 8, Dwitiya tithi, the second form of Maa Durga – Mata Brahmacharini, is worshiped by the devotees. She is worshiped for peace and happiness. Mata Brahmacharini is always barefoot and carries a Jap Mala (prayer beads) in the right hand and a Kamandal (a pitcher) in the left.
