New Delhi: Human terminology and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor ignited another row by praising Pakistan PM Imran Khan for paying tribute to Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan.
On the occasion of death anniversary of Tipu Sultan, Imran Khan tweeted, “Today 4th May is the death anniversary of Tipu Sultan - a man I admire because he preferred freedom and died fighting for it rather than live a life of enslavement.”
Retweeting Imran tweet Shashi Tharoor said, “One thing i personally know about Imran Khan is that his interest in the shared history of the Indian subcontinent is genuine & far-reaching. He read; he cares. It is disappointing, though, that it took a Pakistani leader to remember a great Indian hero on his punyathithi.”

This friendly gesture of Throor, however, ignited another controversy, as the BJP did not gulp the appreciation. BJP Secretary General Ram Madhav on Tuesday said that the Congress leader's love for the neighbours and hate for our leaders is very ‘well known’. He uses choicest abuses for our leaders and he has great love for people across the border. He has to think what he is doing is it right or not.
Congress leader Siddaramaiah reverted back by jibing PM Modi surprise visit to Pakistan and defended Throor by saying, “he was not the one to eat biryani with the premier of an enemy country.”
