Shawn Mendes Mental Health Updates: The 23-year-old singer will take a break and assure his fans that he will keep them informed of his return. "As soon as there are more updates, I promise I'll let you know," he said in his statement.

Shawn Mendes decided to postpone the dates of his Uncasville tour for 3 weeks, the singer acknowledged that it was difficult for him to be on the road and that his return to the stage this year had been "premature". "It breaks my heart to have to say this, but unfortunately I will have to postpone the next three weeks through Uncasville, CT until further notice," he reported through a post on his Instagram.

The Stitches interpreter admitted that the couple of years he had taken were not enough to fully recover. " I've been on tour since I was 15 years old and to be honest it's always been hard-touring away from friends and family," he said.

And it is that his first tour began in 2014 as the opening act for Austine Mahone and continued in 2015 with the release of his first album, Handwritten. From there and after his resounding success, he continued in 2016 with the Shawn Mendes World Tour; in 2017 with the Illuminate World Tour; and in 2019 with Shawn Mendes: The Tour.

Subsequently, he released the album Wonder in 2020, with a planned tour for 2022. However, the 2 years of rest were not enough after keeping moving since the previous decade.
Mendes pointed out that he had reached the limit of his efforts. “After a few years off the road, I felt I was ready to dive back in, but that decision was premature. Unfortunately, the cost and pressure caught up with me and I reached a breaking point."

In addition, he stated that his decision also had medical influences, which are a priority for him. “After speaking with my team and healthcare professionals, I need to take some time to heal and take care of myself and my mental health. First of all”, he assured.
