According to the High Court's judgement issued today, the magistrate court's order remanding Mr Kundra to police custody on July 20 was correct.
On July 19, the businessman and an associate, Ryan Thorpe, were arrested for their roles in the creation of pornography. He, on the other hand, has claimed that the clip in question was not pornography and that identical content could be found on OTT platforms.
Despite requesting for bail many times since his arrest, the courts have so far rejected him.
In a statement released some days ago, in response to her husband Raj Kundra's arrest in porn case, actress Shilpa Shetty said she would not comment on the allegations and alleged "unwarranted aspersions," rumours, and accusations.
She further added that for the past 29 years, Shilpa Shetty has been a proud law-abiding Indian citizen and a hardworking professional. “I am a proud law-abiding Indian citizen and a hardworking professional for the last 29 years. People have put their faith in ME & I’ve never let anyone down.
So, most importantly, I request you to respect my family’s and ‘my right’ to privacy in these times.”
Shilpa Shetty concluded, “We don’t deserve a media trial. Please let the law take its course.”
Meanwhile Hansal Mehta and actress Richa Chadha supports Actress Shilpa Shetty and calls out celebs for not supporting her.
Now Shilpa Shetty’s sister Shamita Shetty also supported her. Her sister was quick to express her support for her. She commented, “I love u my munki and with you always through thick n thin .. always @theshilpashetty”.
R Madhavan too showed his support for Shilpa Shetty as he wrote, “You are one of the strongest people I know and I have complete faith that this challenge too you will overcome with grace and dignity. Our prayers always with you and your family.”
Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Dia Mirza, Farah Khan Kunder and Rakul Preet Singh were among those who liked Shilpa Shetty’s post and gave their support.
