Shiromani Akali Dal-Fateh group, met with the President to advocate for Amritpal Singh, a Khalistani supporter recently elected as Member of Parliament (MP) from Khadoor Sahib, Punjab. The delegation protested against Amritpal Singh's exclusion from the parliamentary proceedings and urged the President to respect Amritpal's position as an elected member of parliament. A formal demand letter was submitted to the President during the meeting.

At a press conference held in Bathinda, SAD-F spokesperson Karan Singh Kanha Singh wale highlighted the ongoing legal challenges faced by Amritpal Singh, who is currently under investigation under the National Security Act. Singh emphasized that the actions against Amritpal were a result of coordinated efforts between the state and central governments, suggesting a political motive behind the legal proceedings.

Karan Singh expressed dissatisfaction with the limited time allocated for their meeting with the President, which lasted only two to three minutes. However, he conveyed optimism, stating that the President listened attentively and assured them of appropriate action. "We have full faith in the President that justice will be served," Singh remarked.

Singh further warned that if the government fails to provide Amritpal Singh the opportunity to take his oath as MP, the SAD-F is prepared to escalate their protest. He accused the government of intentionally disrupting the political and social atmosphere in Punjab through its actions against Amritpal Singh.

The SAD-F stance reflects a broader concern about the treatment of elected representatives and the political climate in Punjab. Their call for the recognition of Amritpal Singh underscores the tensions between the central and state governments and the ongoing debates over national security and political representation.
