When Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi took over as the show's leads following Hina Khan and Karan Mehra, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai drew a lot of attention. Despite early mistrust from the audience, the couple quickly established themselves as the most likeable characters. Mohsin as Kartik left the programme a few weeks ago, and Shivangi aka Sirat has officially announced her departure from the romantic serial.
Their departure was hinted at in a recent commercial, although nothing was confirmed at the time. Kartik may be seen reunited with Naira in heaven in the trailer. Many people assumed Sirat's character would continue working after the leap after seeing the footage, but the actress' exit raises questions.

Following the departure of Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, a new cast will be introduced. In a statement to IWMBuzz.com, Joshi, who plays Sirat in the programme, stated, "I will forever be thankful for the endless love and affection I have gotten while playing Naira and Sirat (particularly Naira) in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai." Sir Rajan Shahi, I'd like to express my heartfelt gratitude for all your efforts Thank you to Star Plus, the Show, my Co-Stars, and the amazing people who make it possible for me to experience the most incredible memories and moments. I wouldn't be who I am now if it weren't for all of you.”

Shivangi Joshi went on to say.
Since their initial appearance in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Joshi and Mohsin Khan's fan bases have skyrocketed. Fans adore them and have dubbed them #KaiRa.
