In December 2020, Abhinav Kohli, the ex-husband of TV actress Shweta Tiwari, approached the Bombay High Court for the custody of his son Reyansh. According to the petition filed in the Bombay High Court, Abhinav has accused Shweta of not allowing him to meet his son Reyansh. Abhinav's lawyer Trupti Shetty spoke to a Hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar on the whole matter.
In the interview, Tripti said, "In December 2020, a petition was filed against Shweta in the Bombay High Court. My client Abhinav is not allowed to meet his 4-year-old son Reyansh. Last year, when Shweta was corona positive, Abhinav took full care of Reyansh. As soon as Shweta recovered, she left with her son. Since then, she has not allowed Reyansh to meet Abhinav. My client does not even know where his son is. He tried hard to contact Shweta. But Shweta ignored his every effort. Abhinav also tried to get the help of the police, but he failed. Abhinav finally decided to go to the High Court for his rights."
Tripti also said, "t was in December 2020 that the High Court issued the notice and our matter was listed on January 5. Shweta was present on that day and asked for time to appoint her lawyer. We agreed to Shweta and requested that she allow Reyansh to meet Abhinav, even if it is through video conferencing. The court has asked Shweta to accept our view. As per the court order, between 6 and 6.30 pm every day from Abhinav and Reyansh can interact."

"Shweta has also put her point before the court. She believes that there is some issue going on between Abhinav and him (Reyansh). However, the case of child welfare is completely different. Abhinav is Reyansh's father and has every right to meet and talk to his child. He is ready to take full responsibility of his child. In this case, the arguments of both parties will start in court soon," added Tripti.
Shweta tied the knot for the second time in the year 2013 with Abhinav Kohli. However, things went sour and Shweta accused her second husband Abhinav of domestic violence. She also filed a complaint against Abhinav in the police station.
