Sidhu will work in the barracks, performing jail office duties from within the barracks. The jail office's files would be sent to Sidhu on a daily basis. He will be on duty from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. During this time, he is free to work on the files whenever he wants.
Sidhu will not get paid in lieu of work. Sidhu has no prior administrative experience. As a result, he remains an unskilled worker. If he gets semi-skilled after three months, he will be paid 30 rupees per day, and if he becomes proficient, he would be paid 90 rupees per day.
Those who were sentenced to prison by the Supreme Court could work in factories or bakeries. Sidhu's safety, on the other hand, is a concern. Many other hardened inmates work in bakeries and factories. In such a situation, keeping Sidhu away from them, he was put in the office.

Manjit Singh Tiwana, the superintendent of Patiala Central Jail, who is also completely cooperating, said that because Sidhu is educated, he has been entrusted with the office's clerical job. His security has also been ensured. He claims Sidhu is completely cooperating in jail.
