After about a month and a half, state chief Navjot Sidhu has finally assumed charge of Congress in Punjab. He arrived at Congress Bhawan in Chandigarh on Tuesday and shortly after taking office, he stated that not every MLA in Congress will be given a party ticket.
Candidates with high chances of winning will contest on Congress' ticket. For the cause, party will conduct a survey, stated Punjab PCC head. Sidhu’s statement that multiple MLAs
could be ousted, has caused panic among the political circles.
The party will release the list of candidates soon.
Meanwhile, AICC Punjab in charge Harish Chaudhary, who was also present at Congress Bhawan, said that for now every Punjabi is the face of CM.

The recent spat between Punjab unit head Sidhu and CM Channi has seriously impacted Congress' image. As a result, the party's high command is re-exploring its decision to name Channi
as a candidate for CM chair.
Sidhu, on the other hand, stated that the party's district unit heads will be announced next month. He also advised the enraged Congressmen not to revolt.
"Everyone will be given their proper place and respect at the party," Sidhu said.
