Today, June 11, marks the 30th birthday of late Punjabi singer Shubdeep Singh Sidhu aka Sidhu Moosewala. On this auspicious aoccasion, Sidhu’s family has organised a heartfelt tribute to the iconic singer. Continuing on his values and principles even after his untimely demise, Sidhu’s father, Balkaur Singh announced a free cancer check-up camp in Moosa village in Mansa, Punjab.

Sidhu, along with being a music icon, was also an advocate for raising cancer awareness and prevention. Sidhu had started a cancer check-up camp which was to be organised every year in the name of his grandmother to make the people of his area aware about cancer, get check-up and timely treatment. Now his family has taken on the task as Balkaur Singh informed of the check-up camp on social media. The camp is being organized at village Moosa on Shubdeep's birthday on June 11. He also appealed to all the residents of the area to reach the camp.

Balkaur Singh posted the announcement on social media with the caption, "Shubhdeep was very worried about the cancer spreading in Punjab. To make the people of his area aware about it, get check-up and get timely treatment, he started every day in the name of his grandmother." Cancer check-up camp was started in 2015. Continuing the same series, a cancer check-up camp is being organized for all the villagers and residents of Mansa on the birthday of Shubdeep. We appeal to reach the camp so that we can save our villages from cancer."

Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants on 29 May 2022; a Canada-based gangster named as Goldy Brar and a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the killing, which the police said was the culmination of an inter-gang rivalry.
