A Sikh man was stripped naked and beaten severely while celebrating the festival of Vaisakhi in Pakistan. In an X post shared by BJP leader Manjinder Sirsa, Pakistan's fundamentalist organization Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) were allegedly beating up the Sikh man with sticks after removing his turban and stripping him naked.
BJP leader Sirsa posted this video on X (formerly Twitter) and demanded action from the Government of India.
While posting the video, Sirsa wrote - "A barbaric video has surfaced from Pakistan. In which a Sikh man was stripped naked. His feet were tied. His turban was removed. Then he was beaten with sticks. In the video, Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan ( TLP) logo is there. I was told that TLP fanatics beat up the innocent Sikh just because he was celebrating Baisakhi."
SGPC Secretary Pratap Singh said that this is a condemnable incident. On the basis of the video, SGPC will write to the Pakistan government. Inhuman treatment of Sikhs and minorities in Pakistan is not right, said SGPC
Sirsa’s post went on to say- Pakistan government PM's silence is sad, Indian Foreign Ministry took up the matter. Tagging Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on social media, he wrote "What’s more hurtful is the fact that Pak govt and @CMShehbaz Ji continues to stay silent on such hateful treatments meted out to minority Sikhs & Hindus by radical groups who unleash their anger everytime minorities celebrate some festival of their faith. I urge Vinay Kwatra Ji, Foreign Secretary @MEAIndia (Ministry of External Affairs) to take up this matter with Govt. of Pakistan."
What is TLP, whom BJP leader accused?
