Moga Police arrest two shooters after encounter who fired at Ludhiana’s Sindhi Bakers

Two assailants who opened fire at Sindhi Bakers in Rajguru Nagar last night were caught by Moga police in a late night encounter on Wednesday. A criminal has been shot on his right leg. A robber is injured by a blow. Both the gangsters were admitted to a hospital in Moga late at night. Moga police has registered a case against both the miscreants.

According to the police, the arrested men have been identified as Jagmeet Singh alias Meeta of Bahona chowk, Moga and Vikas Kumar alias Kasa of Pahara Singh chowk. The police said they have also recovered two pistols (32 bores), three live bullets, two mobile phones, and a Honda Activa, which were used in the crime, from the arrested criminals. 

Senior Superintendent of police, Moga, Ankur Gupta in a press conference on Thursday said the two accused also targeted a garment shop in Moga on August 26 where they had opened fire to loot.

The accused opened fire at Sindhi Bakers Ludhiana. They shot the owner Naveen gangwani. The shop owner sustained a bullet injury at his neck, he was undergoing treatment but now he is out of danger. 

According to bakery employees, one of the assailants stood outside while the other entered the shop, brandished a weapon, and shot Gangwani, hitting him in the neck. Another employee standing nearby also suffered minor splinter injuries.

Ankur Gupta, SSP Moga, said after the accused opened fire at Sindhi Bakers, they went towards Moga and when their two-wheeler was signalled to stop for checking near Delhi Colony by a team of Moga Police, they were asked to stop for checking their faces were covered. Further Ankur Gupta said, “However, instead of stopping, they opened fire at a police party and tried to flee. The police also opened fire in self-defence and Jagmeet Singh received a bullet injury in his right knee. He has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.”
