Notably, Akshay Kumar who was lauded for his role in OMG 2 and his new movie Mission Raniganj: The Great Indian Rescue opted for 'Gandhi-Shastri' Jayanti to announce his upcoming movie. Is Sky Force a true story?
The answer is yes. Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur, Sky Force is a true story based on India’s First and deadliest Air Strike on Pakistan during the 1965 India-Pakistan war. Talking about Sky Force's first look, Akshay Kumar shared the video with the caption saying, "No better day than today to announce the incredible story of #SkyForce: Our untold story of India’s first and deadliest airstrike. Give it love, please. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.
Presented by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan, Sky Force takes flight in cinemas on 2nd October 2024." The text in the Sky Force teaser reads, "Muhammad Ayub Khan, president of Pakistan, 6th September 1965, India-Pakistan war." It was followed by an old video of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri responding to the threat. Next, the words in the video read, "The untold true story of India's first and deadliest air strike."
Sky Force True Story
While most of the story has been kept under wraps, True Scoop News tried to dig deep into India's first-ever airstrike on Pakistan. Talking about Sky Force True Story, indianairforce official website's report suggest that on 1 Sep 1965, Marshal of the Indian Air Force (MIAF) Arjan Singh, then the Chief of the Air Staff, ordered air strikes against the Pakistan Forces. Just before sunset of 01 Sep 1965, after meeting the Defence Minister of India, 26 fighter bombers consisting of 12 Vampire aircraft of No. 45 and 220 Squadrons and 14 Mystere aircraft of No. 3 and 31 Sqn took off from Pathankot for the Chhamb Sector. The mission marked the start of the air action against belligerence by Pakistan. Just before 1800hrs, the first IAF aircraft struck the Pakistani Patton Tanks. On this day, IAF accounted for 10 tanks, 02 Anti-Aircraft guns and 30-40 vehicles of the Pakistani Army. In the words of WM ‘Jim’ Goodman, “Our boys were in like a flash and in no time the whole place was ablaze with burning enemy tanks and vehicles. The morale of our force was just wonderful…. I am sure the enemy will never forget the Mystere.”

Coming to Sky Force's starcast and makers, it has been directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur. The movie features Akshay Kumar, and it will mark Veer Pahariya's Bollywood debut. The film has been presented by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan. It has been written by Sandeep Kewlani. While the makers did not announce it in the first look, reports suggest that ctresses Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur are also part of the movie.
