Arzoo Govitrikar, an actress, has filed for divorce from her husband, Siddharth Sabharwal, citing domestic abuse as a reason. Aditi Govitrikar's sister Arzoo has acted in the film Baghban and the television series Naagin 2.
In 2019, Arzoo Govitrikar filed a domestic abuse complaint against her husband, alleging that they had argued over Siddharth's alcohol consumption. She had claimed that her husband dragged her into the bathroom at 4 am and hit her badly.
“Enough is enough, and I am not going to take this lying down any longer,” she told in an exclusive interview. I swallowed my pride and tried, doing my best. But things came to a head, and I couldn't stay with Siddharth any longer. I had never spoken to the press before, not even when I was pursued by journalists two years ago.”
She went on to say that he had beaten her "black and blue." “But now, I will speak today. I'd like to inform you that he grabbed my neck and attempted to throw me out of the flat. He slapped me. He kicked me in my stomach. There were days when I was beaten up black and couldn't leave the house because I didn't want my bruises to be visible.”
Arzoo also accused him of being unfaithful to her, prompting her to confront him about his new girlfriend. She claims that she has video evidence of the violence and infidelity, as well as his personal chats. “It was two years after our marriage when Siddharth first raised his hand on me.And after our son was born three years after we married, he simply drifted apart,” Arzoo explained, adding, “He started sleeping in a different room.”
After that, I discovered he has a Russian girlfriend, with whom he was regularly chatting. I addressed him on the subject of her. I'm not sure if they're still together because he lives alone.Mind you, I have those chats plus the CCTV recording of his brutality, both of which would assist me in obtaining justice.”
Arzoo also claimed that he abused her in a "casteist" manner, and that she began to have “blackouts."
Meanwhile Siddharth said in response to the accusations, “Let her say what she wants, I don’t want to say anything.”
