Attacking brutally on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on Centre’s farm laws, Union Minister Smriti Irani on Thursday said that he's unaware of the ground reality. She further alleged that Rahul’s family trust took farmers' land under false pretence in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi. "When he was Amethi MP, the trust of his family took farmers' land on the pretext of opening a medical college. But they built a guest house for themselves there. Being Amethi MP, I'd like to say that if someone made provision for medical college here, it was Narendra Modi," while speaking in the Lok Sabha today the BJP leader commented.
Surprised over Rahul Gandhi’s speaking on farmers and his allegations against the Central government, she said though he is expressing concerns on the mandi system but has never taken any part in discussions of the system of the region from where is an MP.
On Rahul’s criticism over the union Budget 2021, Irani hit out at him saying that he wasn’t even concerned about his constituency Amethi not having CT scan facility at the hospitals. "This person had said that he's not concerned about Budget. I'm not surprised because Budget mentions about Aatmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana. He's not concerned even when there wasn't even CT scan facility at hospitals of his constituency when he was an MP there," Smriti said.
She further added, "It is not acceptable for this gentleman (Rahul Gandhi) to discuss the Budget in this House. Budget is to make India self-reliant, to connect India. Those who supported slogans calling for fragmentation of India can never support a Budget dedicated to India.”
Rahul Gandhi hum do hamre do comment in Lok Sabha
Irani’s comments came after Rahul Gandhi took a dig at the Centre over the farm laws and said the legislation "only four people running this country - 'Hum do, Hamare do'.

"The content of the third law is that when a farmer goes to the biggest industrialist and demands the right price for his produce, then he will not be allowed to go to the court. Many years ago, there was a slogan for family planning- 'Hum do, hamare do'. Like coronavirus comes in a different form, this slogan has come back in a different form. Today, this country is run by 4 people- 'Hum do, hamare do'. Everyone knows their names,” the Congress leader remarked while describing the farm laws.
He said the Centre did not even show remorse on the farmers who died during the protest and alleged that the Modi government farm laws will only give hunger, unemployment and suicide
