Smriti Irani, a union minister from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is reported to have bought a piece of land in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. Reports suggest Irani is going to make her residence in Amethi. She said, no MP from Amethi has ever made it their home.
Smriti said no MP stayed in Amethi ever and made it their residence.
Smriti claimed, "The people of Amethi always wondered if their MP would ever reside here after making his house."
Smriti in 2019 has defeated Rahul Gandhi from Amethi in Lok Sabha elections.
She said, "During the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, I had promised that I would make my house here and do all my work from here. For this I have got a plot of land registered."
Irani is reported to have bought land at Medan Mawai area of Gauriganj in Amethi. She has gotten it registered today. As per reports, the price of the plot is Rs 12 lakh.
Irani said she would call all the people of her constituency during "bhoomi pujan." Till now, Irani is staying in a rented accomodation. She said, "I have been residing in a rented accommodation here till now."
Apart from constructing her home in Amethi, Irani said
she has promised with people to set up an Army School and a medical college.
