On Saturday, the third and final encounter of India versus England was scheduled. Mithali Raj-led Indian women team succumbed to defects in the first two ODIs but made a comeback in the third match.
India women team locked the horns with the England women team at New Road, Worcester. Indian team won the match by 4 wickets but defeated the cup by 2-1. The tossed coin was in the favor of team India, which opted to bowl first.

The whole England team was back in the pavilion in 47 overs and the projected score was 219 runs. In return opener, Mithali Raj and opener Smriti Madhana’s partnership took the match in the favor of team India.
Indian spinners – Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana and Poonam Yadav, made the glaring contribution. Deepti Sharma’s spell was outstanding, she took 3 wickets.
The main highlight of the match was Nat Sciver’s dismissal, the credit goes to Deepti and Smriti Mandhana, who became a ‘superwoman’ and caught the catch of England batswoman at the deep mid-wicket. This catch became the turning point of the match.
