The Soon-to-be Pakistan's New Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's brother Shahbaz Sharif and his family has a long history with Punjab.
From where he got the name for his Political journey he might visit Punjab once again if he takes the Oath of Pakistan PM on Monday as reported.
However, back in 2013 former PM and his brother Nawaz Sharif also visited his ancestral village in Punjab.

When Nawaz Sharif was made the prime minister, laddoos were distributed in the village. This time if Shahbaz takes oath as the Prime Minister, then langar will be arranged in the village Gurudwara with monolithic text.
Some youths of the village work in factories built in the Gulf countries of Nawaz Sharif. In 2013, when Shahbaz Sharif came to the village, there was a Badal government. Even before his arrival, all the roads in the village were built overnight.

According to Geo TV, Nawaz Sharif's photo and post have been removed from the website of the National Assembly of Pakistan along with Jinnah International Airport after Nawaz Sharif was convicted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

There is a Gurdwara in the ancestral village of Shahbaz Sharif, where his ancestors used to live. There the people of the village also prayed for Shahbaz Sharif to be made the Prime Minister.
His Political Journey with Punjab
Shahbaz Sharif's entry into politics took place in the 80s. In 1988 he won the first election. He won the election from Lahore Legislative Assembly in Punjab province.
However, the assembly was dissolved in 1990. In 1990, he again won the election in Punjab province. In the same year, he also won the election of the National Assembly.
After both victories, he was elected to the National Assembly. In 1993, the National Assembly was also dissolved and his membership was lost. However again in 1993, he again won the elections to the Lahore Assembly and the National Assembly. This time he left the seat of the National Assembly.
Three times the Chief Minister of Punjab
In 1997, he again contested the elections of Punjab province. This time he contested the ticket of PML-N. In February 1997, Shahbaz Sharif became the Chief Minister of Punjab province for the first time.
In 1999, the army carried out a coup in Pakistan. Shahbaz Sharif's chief minister's chair also went away. He and his family had to leave the country and move to Dubai.
In 2007, Shahbaz Sharif and his family again returned to Pakistan. In June 2008, Shahbaz again became the Chief Minister of Punjab. In the 2013 elections, Shahbaz became the Chief Minister of Punjab for the third time.
