Tottenham Hotspur’s versatile defender, Eric Dier has just signed a new contract with the club that is set to keep him at Spurs until 2024. The 26 year old player joined the club six years ago from Portuguese side, Sporting CP. Dier has so far made 239 appearances for his club and has managed to score 11 times.
He's proven to be an integral part of the squad both as a center-back and a center midfield player. Jose Mourinho has now persuaded the dynamic player to commit to the club for another 4 years. Mourinho has been hopeful of extending the player's contract and the club has officially confirmed that a deal has been completed between the club and the player.
The player donning the "Number 15 Jersey" for Spurs had this to say after the deal:
"I am really happy to continue here and commit to this new journey we're on. It's crazy to think that I have been here for six years now. I have enjoyed it a lot. It's a fantastic place to be. The club gave me my opportunity in England and it has given me so much since then," he said. "We've had some great times together but I want to have even better times and I still feel there are a lot of things I need to achieve here before it's over."
