SSP Kapurthala facilitates Brave girl for nabbing mobile snatchers

Robbers had snatched phone of Kaur’s mother, she caught them.

In recognition of Gurvinder Kaur’s courageous act, when two bike- borne youths snatched her mother’s mobile phone in Sultanpur Lodhi sub-division of Kapurthala but Kaur managed to catch hold of them despite attacked by them, Kapurthala Senior Superintendent of Police Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh on Friday felicitated the brave girl with a commendation certificate.

 



Khakh invited Gurvinder Kaur, along with her parents, over a cup of tea at SSP office Kapurthala and praised her valour. He said Gurvinder has become an idol for other girls and made the society proud.

 

SSP said the incident was caught in CCTVs and went viral on social media. She was sitting outside her house in Satrangada when two masked youths came and snatched his mother's mobile and fled. When his mother informed the incident to Sultanpur Lodhi police station, then police rushed to the spot and started the hunt after checking the camera recording.

The girl Gurvinder Kaur reached home and checked the CCTV footage as well. Gurvinder Kaur told that after her nephew got a call that the aforesaid robbers were standing outside the Government Senior Secondary School, Sultanpur Lodhi. As soon as she reached the spot near the school, the said robbers escaped from there and later she overpowered them from near Shri Hut Sahib.

 

He said that arrested accused have been booked and identified as Jaswinder Singh  of Rural Area Chandigarh Colony and Jassi of Lohian Khas, Jalandhar.
