Sushant Singh Rajput stole hearts in 2016 with his portrayal of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. The film's fifth anniversary is today, on Thursday, September 30. On the occasion, Sushant's admirers paid touching condolences to the late actor on social media.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote, “It's 5 Years Of Our Guiding Light Sushant As Dhoni... Today is the 30th Of September and 5 years before on this day M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story was released... #5YearsOfMSDhoniTheUntoldStory #SushantSinghRajput (sic).”

Another fan wrote that no other actor could have played the role of MS Dhoni like Sushant did. “Here's to Celebrating 5 years #MSDhoniTheUntoldStory No one could play mahi role like #SushantSinghRajput (sic),” the tweet read.
In his biography, 'M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story,' the late actor played Dhoni's role. The actor earned a lot of acclaim for his work in the movie. The film, which also starred Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, Bhoomika Chawla, Anupam Kher, and others, was well welcomed by both the public and reviewers.
Last year, Sushant went for his heavenly abode, and his unexpected death stunned the whole industry. Dhoni was said to be devastated by the news of his death.
On June 14, Sushant was discovered deceased in his residence under unknown circumstances. The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI), the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the Narcotics Control Bureau are all looking into the matter (NCB).
The actor was most recently featured in Nitesh Tiwari's film "Chhichhore," which also starred Shraddha Kapoor. A National Award was also given to the film. Varun Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Naveen Polishetty, and others had pivotal parts in the film.
His final film, starring Sanjana Sanghi and published on an OTT platform after his death, was ‘Dil Bechara.' The film garnered a mixed response from critics.
