Statue of Unity is the brand new 'Tourists Attraction'

According to reports, the Statue of Unity is attracting more tourists than the Statue of Liberty.

The magnificent Statue of Unity has become one of the most highly celebrated tourist figures in India. 

Statue of Unity, which is twice as tall as the Statue of Liberty in New York, is dedicated to the ‘Iron man of India’ Sardar Patel. The memorial is located near Sardar Sarovar Dam on Narmada river in Gujarat. The statue is unique in many ways. 

According to reports, the Statue of Unity is attracting more tourists than the Statue of Liberty.

Besides being the tallest in the world, it also has the distinction of being among landmark status to be completed in the shortest time.

The Statue of Liberty in the United States became an icon of freedom and seen as a symbol of welcome to immigrants arriving by sea. Well, now Statue of Unity takes a sweep.

The 182-metre-tall Statue of Unity has been completed in just 33 months against the Statue of Liberty that was completed in almost 10 years and that it is visible from Space too. Though the project was announced in 2010 by then Gujarat's CM Narendra Modi,  a groundbreaking ceremony was held on October 31 in 2013.

Over 128,000 tourists visited the statue in the 11 days after its opening to the public on 1 November 2018. The daily average tourist footfall at

Statue of Unity during November 2019 reached 15,036.

Statue of Liberty (which attracts around 10,000 daily visitors on average). It has been included in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s ‘8 Wonders of SCO’ list.
