First Story Positive: Anshu Sood breaks PU’s record with Rs 58 lakh salary package

Anshu Sood was not happy with her salary in 2020. Distraught with the way things were going, she decided to do MBA for a better package. Her decision bore fruits, as she secured a whopping 58.22 lakhs per annum package in 2022, the highest ever in PU’s UBS (University Business School) placement cell’s history.

 

A resident of Hoshiarpur, Punjab, Anshu secured the post sales manager in Singapore-based company Tolaram group. This group works in various fields including food and infrastructure and Anshu was selected to work as an area sales manager in Nigeria. The package offered by Tolaram to Anshu is 10.22% more than the highest package offered to a student of UBS during a placement drive, according to a report by The Tribune.

 

Anshu Sood graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.tech) degree from the University Institute of Engineering Technology. Anshu Sood also worked as a marketing intern with Airtel during her summer internship in MBA. In interviews with the media, Anshu revealed that she was not expecting such a high package. She was expecting a package of around 20 lakhs, but instead, she managed to charter new grounds, earning the record-breaking package of Rs 58.22 lakhs. 

 

She credits her success to the supportive role played by her teachers and the UBS Placement Cell. She revealed that she was disheartened with the salary that she getting working at a company in 2020.  Following that she decided to get an MBA. She says that the key to success is expanding your horizons, and reading beyond the text that is prescribed by the syllabus. She urges her fellow candidates to read newspapers, magazines and stay up to date on current affairs. It is difficult to be successful if they only read what is written in the textbooks.
