After days of social media outrage and tearing down of posters by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Canada-based Punjabi singer Shubh's upcoming Mumbai concert has been officially cancelled. Ticket-booking website BookMyShow on Wednesday took to its official X handle and announced that Shubh's Mumbai concert has been cancelled and the company has started refunding for the already sold tickets. BookMyShow was facing flak and #UninstallBookMyShow was trending on Twitter for the past few days after the company's inaction despite the fact that BoAT withdrew its sponsorship after the Punjabi Singer's alleged role in support of Khalistan came to the fore.
BookMyShow took to its X handle and wrote, "Singer Shubhneet Singh’s Still Rollin Tour for India stands cancelled. To that end, BookMyShow has initiated a complete refund of the ticket amount for all consumers who had purchased tickets for the show. The refund will be reflected within 7-10 working days in the customer's source account of the original transaction."

On Tuesday, Boat, the consumer electronics brand, decided to withdraw its sponsorship of the upcoming India tour by Canada-based Punjabi singer, Shubhneet Singh, widely known as Shubh. In its statement, BoAt had said, "At Boat, while our commitment to the incredible music community runs deep, we are first and foremost a true Indian brand. Therefore, when we became aware of the remarks made by artist Shubh earlier this year, we chose to withdraw our sponsorship from the tour."
Before BoAt, Team India cricketer Virat Kohli who once termed the Canada-based Punjabi singer as his favourite also unfollowed him. Later, cricketers like KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya joined the trend.
What did Shubh do?
A few months back, Shubh came under the scanner of social media when he allegedly shared a distorted map of India sans Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. Shubh had allegedly shared the picture on his Instagram stories when Punjab Police was on a hunt to nab a fugitive named Amritpal Singh. Amritpal Singh was nabbed by the Punjab Police under the NSA and while doing it many of his followers were also arrested. Later, after Akali Dal raised concern over the Punjab Police arresting innocent youths, the Police officials had clarified that the innocent people under police custody will be released after their screening.
The Canada-based Punjabi singer has been a sensation in the making for the past few years. Shubh's songs- Elevated, OG, and Cheaques are among the most listened songs by not only people of India but around the world. In fact, Shubh's songs are also a massive hit and many social media influencers have used his songs to make reels. Not only this, but former Team India captain Virat Kohli grooved on the song titled 'Elevated' which was sung by Shubh.
