Goa Police have arrested a 39-year-old CEO of a Bengaluru-based AI company, Mindful AI for allegedly murdering her four-year-old son at a service apartment in the coastal state. She was arrested on Monday. According to reports, she was apprehended in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district while attempting to flee in a cab with her son’s body in a bag. Police said that the incident came to light after house-keeping staff went to clean the apartment on Monday and noticed some bloodstains. According to the police, ‘estranged relationship’ with her husband is one of the main reasons behind the motive of murder. Here’s what we know so far:
Suchana Seth got married in the year 2010. The couple welcomed a son into their family in 2019. In 2020, when there was a dispute between the husband and wife severity of which landed their relationship in court. The couple then them got divorced. But the court ordered that the father can meet the child every Sunday. This was the only thing that Suchana did not like. She did not want her husband to meet her son.
In a radical solution to her problem, to say the least, she decided that the only to keep her husband from seeing her son was to end his life. Under the pretense of having her son. Mother and son were reportedly staying in a hotel in the Candolim area in Goa. She killed the 4-year-old with a sharp weapon and then stuffed his body inside a bag. The hotel staff got suspicious of Suchana when she checked out of the hotel but her son was nowhere to be found with her. After she left in a taxi, the staff checked her room and found traces of blood all over the place. They then promptly informed the police.
According to sources, the police managed to contact the driver of the taxi that Suchana had hired. Upon calling the taxi driver, they instructed him to bring Suchana back so that she could be put under custody and interrogated. Upon arrest, she revealed the chilling reason as to why she committed the heinous act. She said that she did not want her husband to meet her son at all but was forced to let him due to the court-issued orders. She decided that she would kill her son so that her ex-husband could never meet her son again.
