In a recent development, former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has praised Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni and named him the best captain in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL). Gavaskar credited Dhoni for the way CSK has performed over the years and mentioned that there hasn't been a captain like him, and there will never be one like him in the future.
Dhoni led CSK for the record 200th time in the game against Rajasthan Royals but unfortunately lost the game by three runs. However, Gavaskar is not worried about the team's performance as he believes that the Men in Yellow know how to come out of tough situations, and it is possible only under Dhoni's captaincy.
Dhoni's record as CSK's skipper has been remarkable, winning 120 matches while losing 79, with one match ending in no result. Gavaskar also praised another former Indian skipper Virat Kohli for the way he has been batting for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) this season in IPL. Kohli has scored 214 runs with three fifties at a strike-rate of around 147.
Gavaskar credited Kohli for the flying starts he has been giving to RCB at the start of the innings, and he deserves a lot of credit for the runs the team is managing to post on the board. These are good signs for RCB, Gavaskar added.
