In a major development, Bollywood actress Sunny Leone was denied permission to perform at Kerala University by the Vice Chancellor. Sunny Leone's performance at Kerala University was scheduled to take place on July 5, 2024. To be precise, Sunny Leone was slated to perform at the University College of Engineering campus in Thiruvananthapuram. However, Kerala University Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohanan Kunnummal directed the registrar to exclude Sunny Leone's show from the college's program list.
For the unversed, in November last year, four students died and over 60 were injured in a stampede-like situation at a concert in Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) in Kerala's Ernakulam district. The official reason why Sunny Leone's performance was delisted has not been revealed, however, netizens are coming up with their own theories. Many believe that Sunny's performance was cancelled by the VC due to her image. Another believe that the decision was taken keeping safety and security in mind.
Sunny Leone, 43, will be a part of an upcoming Malayalam film. In April, she took to Instagram to share a glimpse of the muhurat ceremony on the sets- as she began shooting for the film. “I'm so excited to be part of this amazing Malayalam film that I ended up burning my hands. Director: @pampally,” she captioned the post.
The former adult actress Sunny Leone has acted in Bollywood films like “Jism 2”, “Jackpot”, “Shootout at Wadala”, and “Ragini MMS 2”. Last year, Sunny was featured in "Kennedy", directed by Anurag Kashyap. She was featured alongside Rahul Bhat and Abhilash Thapliyal.
