Priyanka is accused of procuring psychiatric drugs for Sushant without consulting him and using a forged prescription, according to the Mumbai Police FIR. A division bench of Justices SS Shinde and MS Karnik wrote in their order, “Prima facie case found against petitioner no 1 (Priyanka Singh).”Also, a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India SA Bobde said, “We are not inclined to entertain. Dismissed.”
Priyanka Singh was represented in the Supreme Court by senior advocate Vikas Singh who said that in August 2020 when the top court transferred the FIR in connection with the late actor’s death to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), it held that subsequent proceedings arising out of the FIR will be probed by CBI.
Despite this direction, the Bombay high court did not quash the proceedings, Vikas Singh argued.
Moreover, Priyanka Singh had maintained that no second FIR could be possible after inquest proceedings were closed by Maharashtra Police.
Rhea had asked the Bandra Police to look into whether the prescriptions procured by Priyanka, which are covered by the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, contributed to Sushant's mental health decline or his death on June 14, 2020.
According to the contents of the FIR, Rhea made "contradictory remarks" about the actor's death, according to Priyanka. Rhea initially said she had no idea what drove Sushant to commit suicide and later told the Supreme Court that she had no doubts, but later changed her mind and accused them of negligence, she said.
Meanwhile, Rhea is being investigated by central authorities in connection with Sushant's murder.
