In a massive crackdown against COVID norms violators, the Mumbai Police along with BMC officials on raided Dragonfly club situated in Hotel JW Marriot in Andheri in the early hours of Tuesday, at around 2.30 am, and arrested cricketer Suresh Raina along with other celebrities under section 188 of IPC, Bombay Police Act and Epidemic Disease Act.
Reports state that Suresh Raina, Sussane Khan, and Guru Randhawa were arrested by the Mumbai Police. However, they were later released on bail. Going by the reports of ABP News, there were many celebrities present at the club however, they escaped from the backdoor. Republic TV says that Badshah was also present but left via a back gate during the raid.
The current functional time limit for pubs in Mumbai, set by the city's civic body, is 11:30 pm. The pub in question was operating till 4 am, the police said.

BMC Mayor Kishori Pednekar said, 'Be it a movie star or a common citizen of India, whatever rules are made, it has to be followed. Rules are made to save everyone's life. Action should be taken against those who do not listen to the rules'. A total of 34 people were arrested in the raid, including seven staff members of the Mumbai club.
Reports also state that many celebrities have already headed to Delhi after escaping from the nightclub on 7 am flight.
