Mr. Nitin Kohli, President of Hockey Punjab today blessed the players participating in the coaching camp run by Surjit Hockey Society.

On the completion of the 50th day of the coaching camp at Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar, President of the Hockey Punjab Mr. Nitin Kohli inspected the coaching camp that was started from 8th October and while addressing the players he described coaching camp of under 14 and under 19 players as a great initiative.

He said that “the current coaching camp will nurture the budding players and will definitely help the Indian and Punjab Hockey in the future.”

On this occasion, Mr. Nitin Kohli called on Mr. Ghansham Thori, President of Surjit Hockey Society and Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar, and his entire team especially Secretary Iqbal Singh Sandhu and Chief P.R.O  Surinder Singh Bhapa. They appreciated the efforts made by society to promote Hockey.

Mr. Kohli added that in the field of hockey apart from Surjit Hockey Society, the performance made by Jagroop Singh of Jharkhand, Ranjit Singh Rana from Hoshiarpur, Swainder Singh Saini from Ropar is top-notch.

Mr. Kohli announced to give away Tracer shoes to around 100 participating players and Hockey Punjab also assured all possible help to Surjit Hockey Society and appealed to the parents to do the same. He urged parents to send their children to the camp to learn hockey to create a better future for them. 

On this occasion, a participating player from Hoshiarpur, Sukhchain Singh was honored by Nitin Kohli, who gave him a  hockey. 

Mr. Iqbal Singh Sandhu, Secretary Surjit Hockey Society said that this camp was started on 5th October with 5 players and now more than 100 players are participating today. These players are being coached by Olympians Rajinder Singh, Davinder Singh, Avtar Singh Pinka, and Yadvinder Singh Johny . Apart from fruits, soaked almonds are being given to all the participating players as a diet. According to Mr. Sandhu, no fee is being charged for participating in this camp and this training is absolutely free.
