Member Parliament from
Jalandhar Sushil Kumar Rinku on Tuesday asked the district administration and NHAI officials to submit a feasibility report as soon as possible to construct an additional attachment at PAP chowk to ease out the traffic from Jalandhar city to Amritsar.

It may be mentioned here that at present people going to Amritsar from Jalandhar city would have to reach Rama Mandi chowk first to catch the National highway, which causes traffic congestion in the area.

During his visit to the PAP chowk with MLA Raman Arora and Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal, MP asked the officials of the National Highway Authority to complete the feasibility survey and send the report immediately so that the project report can be prepared as per the recommendations.

The MP said that the construction of additional attachment at this place would bring a big relief to the city residents. He asked the officials to take personal interest to carry out this work on priority basis so that a suitable proposal regarding additional attachment can be prepared and sent to NHAI.

Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal asked the officers concerned to ensure that the survey report is submitted on time so that further action can be taken regarding the detailed project report.

He said that the officials of the PWD and NHAI to start immediate action regarding this project with the best coordination so that the traffic movement can be facilitated.

Earlier, MP held a detailed meeting with the Deputy Commissioner and other officials at DAC and held a detailed discussion on further streamlining the traffic from Jalandhar to Amritsar.
