The enigmatic actor, who wowed us with his brilliant screen presence in “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story” and “Chhichhore”, began his acting career on TV. He entered the television industry with Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil but his big break was bagging the lead role in Pavitra Rishta. The show, based on popular Tamil show Thirumathi Selvam, premiered on June 1, 2009, on Zee TV.
It’s a love story between Manav Deshmukh ( Shushant Singh Rajput ) and Archana Karanjakr ( Ankita Lokhande ).In the show, Manav was seen working as a mechanic to support his family while Archana was a dedicated daughter to her family.
In the very first episode, Ankita’s character was introduced while Sushant’s character took more than a week to unravel. The viewers too got the first glimpse of him in the second episode when both were praying at a Sidhi Vinayak temple in the wee hours. But they didn’t meet over there.
In next viewers got to see the protective side of Manav where he helped Archana and her friends from the group of boys. With this kind of gesture, Manav won many hearts.
A boy who never hesitated to help the strangers in the serial as well as in real life was also playing the role of an ideal son, brother, and a loving husband. Manav and Archana got easily married on the show but the couple faced a lot of hardships. Like Sushant, Manav was a man of few words and his life revolved around his family. Most of the work was done by his expressive eyes and beautiful smile.
Everyone love’s portrayal of Manav and his fan-following increased manifold during the show. His chemistry with Ankita Lokhande on the show was another factor for the show's success.
Besides reel life, the couple transformed into a real-life on the sets of Pavitra Rishta. Sushant and Ankita were in a relationship for around six years. The duo also took part in “Jhalak Dhikhla Ja Season 4” where Sushant proposed Ankita for marriage. However, things went sour between the two and they broke off. The two called it quit in 2016.
Recently, Ekta Kapoor shared an interesting video about Sushant Singh Rajput while celebrating 11 years. She said that Zee TV was not convinced about casting Sushant as the lead but she was sure that he would win millions of hearts, which actually happened. Sushant thanked Ekta and commented on the post saying he will be forever grateful to her.
With this Role, Sushant won many hearts even he won Best-Actor award for his role in Pavitra Rishta. The success of the show took Sushant in the Bollywood. In 2011 the actor quit the show and, Sushant was replaced by the Hiten Tejwani on the show but fans and viewers remember Sushant Singh Rajput as Manav Deshmukh.
