Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sushil Kumar Rinku on Thursday lambasted the Centre over Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remark about Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's party wanting to control Vigilance Bureau to hide corruption. Sushil Kumar Rinku who is the lone MP of AAP in the Lok Sabha expressed his protest over the Delhi services bill, or the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023 by throwing papers at the chair. Following this Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi moved the motion to suspend Sushil Rinku from the remaining of the monsoon session which was also passed in the parliament. It means AAP's lone MP from Jalandhar, Sushil Rinku won't be able to take part in the proceedings of the Lok Sabha till this monsoon session.

After his suspension, Sushil Kumar Rinku lashed out at the Centre and stated that he was suspended for raising the voice of the people and trying to protect democracy. Not only this, Rinku pointed out that the 'power of the elected government are given to non-elected'. Talking to a newswire, Sushil Rinku said, "The Constitution is breaking, the federal system of the country is in danger...It is an insult to the Constitution when the powers of the elected government are given to non-elected and bureaucrats. The vigilance department is in the hands of the Central govt. The court will decide who is corrupt and not...I do not regret that I was suspended for raising my voice for the people & protecting Democracy," said AAP MP Sushil Kumar Rinku after being suspended from Lok Sabha.

Meanwhile, the Delhi services bill 2023 was passed in the Lok Sabha amid uproar in the House. Several Opposition members walked out of the House after the bill was passed. Now, the bill will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha where the alliance of I.N.D.I.A may come together to keep the bill from passing. For the unversed, NDA is short of number in the Rajya Sabha and AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal had been visiting different states and joining I.N.D.I.A meeting in order to gain support to oppose the Delhi services bill.

For those who are unaware, the AAP-led Delhi government has been at loggerheads with the Modi government over the control of Group-A officers in the National Capital Territory (NCT) administration. In fact, their tiff went into the Supreme Court of India as well. Notably, the apex court favored the AAP government. However, in May, the Centre issued the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023 that overturned the Supreme Court judgment handing over control of "services" in the NCT administration to the Delhi government.
