T20 WC, Ind vs Pak: Black Lives Matter, team India takes the knee

Team India took a knee and Pakistanis showed solidarity towards Black Lives Matter movement, before the Ind vs Pak clash.

A noble gesture was shown by both Asian teams ahead of the match. Players from both the countries supported Black Lives Matter movement. Players of Team India took a knee and Pakistanis showed solidarity by holding their hand at the heart. 


Many sportsmen and cricketers have supported the movement after African-American George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police personnel in May, last year. 


This is not the first time that India has supported the Black Lives Matter movement. Earlier, during IPL matches Hardik Pandya took a knee and supported it. 


The same gesture was shown by the players in the match between West Indies and England. In the T20 matches, both the teams showed support against racism and took a knee.


The coin was flipped at 7 pm and the Pakistan team won the toss and elected to ball first. Pakistan was set a target of 151 in 20 overs to win the high-octane Group 2 match in Super 12 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup against India. As Shaheen Shah Afridi at its best today, he took the major wicket of Virat Kohli. Kohli made 57 runs for the team. However, Virat Kohli has scored his 29th half-century in T20Is.
