Ludhiana Born Jatinder Singh; also known as Jati brought laurels to the Omani cricket team by victory in T2O World Cup over Papua New Guinea. The player was born in Ludhiana, Punjab on 5th March,1989. He was born to Punjabi parents and made his first debut to Omani national side in 2011. He is a right handed batsman.
Jatinder Singh smashed an unbeaten 73 as co hosts Oman thrashed Papua New Guinea (PNG) by 10 wickets in the opening of GROUP B first round match on Sunday in Oman. None of the baller from PNG could create any obstacle for Jatinder and his partner Aqib. Jatinder and his opening partner Aqib scored 42 and 50 not out of 43 balls respectively ; wherein Oman chased down the target of 130 run in 13.4 overs.

Jatinder made his senior debut for Oman in January 2011, aged 20, playing two matches in the WCL Division Three tournament. Both of these came against Italy. He was dismissed for a golden duck on debut in the group stages, caught by Hayden Patrizi off of Vince Pennazza, and did not bat in the third-place playoff, which Oman won. Jatinder played two further matches for Oman at the 2011 ACC Twenty20 Cup, where they finished third to qualify for the 2012 World Twenty20 Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates.
Since the 2012 World Twenty 20 Qualifier, Jatinder has featured regularly for Oman in ACC and ICC limited-overs tournaments, including the 2012 and 2014 ACC Premier League tournaments, the 2013 and 2015 ACC Twenty20 Cups, and the 2013 WCL Division Three and 2014 WCL Division Four tournaments. He was named in Omans Squad several times :- 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier tournament , 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament, 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament in Namibia , 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament , 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh , 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. He was the leading run-scorer for Oman in the tournament, with 267 runs in nine matches.

Jatinder Singh scored seven fours and four sixes till his knock in the recent match he played , whereas Aqib hit five boundaries and one hit over the fence. Maqsood the adjudged 'Player of the Match' said at the post game presentation ceremony , " We knew the wicket was playing very well, we needed to make sure we didn't give any loose balls and boundaries".
PNG lost both their openers for no score ; PNG witnessed another batting collapse as they lost their next six wickets for just 37 runs. Maqsood was certainly pick of the bowlers for Oman but medium pacers Bilal Khan (2/16) and Kallemullah (2/19) also chipped in with a couple of wickets each. Oman will play Bangladesh in their next Group B match on Tuesday, while PNG will also take on Scotland the same day.
