On Thursday, the trailer for Taapsee Pannu's eagerly awaited film Rashmi Rocket released. The trailer begins with a young girl who has been a fast runner since she was a youngster and goes on to become a successful professional athlete. The story revolves around the "struggles of numerous female athletes."
Rashmi's athletic career appears to be wrecked following a medical checkup in which she is labelled "masculine" and therefore ineligible to compete in women's sports due to hyperanderogenism. The athlete's battle for respect, honour, and justice is then followed by Rashmi Rocket.

“This film is very special and unique,” said lead actress Taapsee Pannu in a statement about the film. I've always been approached when the writer or director is ready to create the picture, but one line of this narrative landed into my lap in Chennai, and the journey from there to it being a full-fledged film has been an experience I've never had with any other film.”
The producer of the film Ronnie Screwvala said, “The system and society throw so many barriers in the way of so many incredibly brilliant young people that they never realise their full potential or even have opportunities. RASHMI ROCKET is an example of someone who overcome adversity and took on challenges straight on. It's a storey of resilience, dedication, and, above all the fighting human spirit.”
Supriya Pathak (as Rashmi's mother), Priyanshu Painyuli, and Supriya Pilgaonkar appear in Akarsh Khurana's Rashmi Rocket. Ronnie Screwvala, Neha Anand, and Pranjal Khandhdiya produced the film. Writers include Nanda Periyasamy, Aniruddha Guha, and Kanika Dhillon.
Rashmi Rocket will premiere on Zee5 on October 15th.
