Nine men gang-raped and abducted a 13-year-old girl in Madhya Pradesh’s Umaria district twice within five days, the police said, adding seven people have been arrested so far in the case.
The girl was kidnapped by a young man on January 4, whom she knew. He and his six friends then raped her for two days. Before releasing her on January 5, the accused threatened to kill her if she spoke about the incident to anybody and not to file a complaint.
But this was not the end to her horror. The girl was again kidnapped on January 11 by one of the seven men who raped her before and then held captive in jungles where three of them raped her again, the police said.
After being let go by the three accused, she was allegedly kidnapped again and raped by two truck drivers, before she managed to escape and return to her house on Friday early morning, they added.
The crime was reported to Katni police on Friday, after which search was conducted by multiple police teams.
Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against the accused under Indian Penal Code Sections 376 (rape), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) and 34 (common intention), police informed.

In the last six days, four such shameful incidents against women have been reported in various parts of Madhya Pradesh, raising questions on the safety of female gender in the state.
A 48-year-old woman was raped by a man with the help of four others inside her hut in Sidhi district, on January 9. According to the police, the chief accused also inserted an iron rod inside her private parts. All the five accused have been arrested. On January 11, a 13-year-old girl was captured by her neighbour, who raped and murdered her in Khandwa district. Just a day later, a young woman was assaulted by her husband and father-in-law, suspecting her of infidelity in Ujjain district.
