Von Erich brothers
Von Erich brothers are among the well-known names in the pro wrestling fraternity. While a section of the media takes joy after their name pops up, another feels sad by the Von Erich brothers' tragic story. The Von Erich family is an American professional wrestling family. Originally from Texas, their actual surname is Adkisson, but every member who has been in the wrestling business has used the ring name "Von Erich," after the family patriarch, Fritz Von Erich (Jack Adkisson). Von Erich was also hit by tragedy. Fritz's firstborn, Jack Jr., was accidentally shocked and drowned in a puddle at the age of 6 in 1959, outside his Niagara Falls home. Following that the Von Erich boys all grew up watching their father work between the squared circle, learning about the business from a very early age. Born a year after one another, Kevin, David and Kerry Von Erich began training from a young age for careers in pro wrestling. Raised out in the country, the young Von Erichs, when they weren't training, would often hunt alongside their father.
While the Von Enrich brothers made their name in the pro-wrestling business, tragedy kept on haunting them. In 1984, David Von Erich died in a Tokyo hotel from enteritis at the age of 25. It was speculated that he died of a drug overdose, but the actual reason was enteritis which resulted in a major heart attack. Mike, Chris, and Kerry all committed suicide. Yes! you heard it right. Mike took an overdose of Placidyl near Lewisville Lake in 1987 at the age of 23, Chris shot himself in the head with a 9mm handgun in 1991 at the age of 21, and Kerry shot himself in the chest in the family yard in 1993 at the age of 33. Kevin Von Erich is the last surviving son.
