Tarun said that his father passed away in his childhood because of which he and his mother had to face a lot of problems. His other had to leave the father's house and started living in a rented house with Tarun. After the 12th standard, Tarun reached Indore to pursue BBA, later he did MBA and started working.
Tarun followed his passion for dance only on his mother's advice. He says that he did not even complete 1 month of practice when he came to know that the audition for Dance India Dance-3 has started. Despite a short practice period, Tarun made it to the top 100 contestants of the show. Remo D'Souza, known as Dance King, was very impressed with his performance and asked him to perform in the film 'ABCD'. However, Tarun did not get on with Remo's manager and he did not get a chance.
