The famous four-part-docuseries is all set to return on the digital screen. Directed by Adrian Brown and Sheldon Wynne, The Test Season 2 is an Australian sports documentary produced by Whooshka Media. While season 1 was all about Australian Men’s Cricket team rebuilding their reputation after the “sandpaper scandal” of 2018, Season 2 will witness how the team strives to be the best while facing various disruptive changes in leadership. The docuseries will be available in more than 240 countries worldwide.
The docuseries starring all the famous players of the Australian cricket team and some of the best commentators will be exclusively streaming on Amazon Prime from 13th January 2023. The Test season 2 will be showcasing test series of the year 2021 and 2022 where the Australian team faced England and played cricket in Pakistan for the very first time in last 20 years. The series will be giving a closer view of Australian players managing their personal and professional life to the audience. It will feature Pat Cummins juggling with his captaincy and fatherhood, Usman Khwaja speaking about challenges he faced during growing up at Islamic College, Tim Paine’s decision to resign, Justin Langer’s resignation as senior coach, etc. The director in an interview said, “Audiences are going to get to know the Australian men’s Test team in a way they never have before.”
The Test Season 1 received immense love from audiences. It began with the ball-tampering scandal of 2018 and ban on players who were involved in the same who were Steve Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft. The story of Tim Paine becoming the new captain replacing Smith also got featured in the first season. Season 1 ended with a bang that showed Australia winning the fourth test after facing all the backlash due to the scandal.
