The Witcher Season 3 Volume 1 in a nutshell
Season 3 of the epi fantasy series starts with The Witcher (Geralt), Ciri, and Yennefer of Vengerberg dogging the bounty hunters and kings' men to capture the 'half elve & half human'. Yennefer is trying to teach Ciri how to control her power, on the other hand, Geralt looks to protect them from the hunter. In the meanwhile, elves continue their guerilla warfare against Nilfguard, however, Francesca Findabair faces a civil war-like situation as
many of the elves lose their life in search of Ciri. On the other side, a mage named Reince is on a hunt for Ciri, however, he is just a pawn hired by a much greater force or let's say a greater Mage who is very powerful. Tired of running and constant attacks, Geralt decides that he will go on a hunt for Reince, on the other hand, Yennefer will take Ciri to the school of mages where she learned magic by the help of Tissaia. And from there, adventure and a string of suspense begin.
Now, since you have watched the series, let's come straight to the question about The White Flame.
Who is White Flame & what does he want from Ciri?
Real vs Reel: Is Nikhil Siddhartha starrer Spy a true story based on a RAW agent?
For those who have watched The Witcher Season 2 carefully, The White Flame is none other than Emhyr var Emreis, also known as Duny (Bart Edwards). What makes the revelation so shocking is that he’s actually Ciri’s father, who had first been introduced through flashbacks in season 1. In the entire series, it was first assumed that Ciri's parents were dead, however, in season 2 it was revealed that Duny is her father. Going by the book, Duny’s initial plan was to marry Ciri until his true identity as Emperor of Nilfgaard was exposed. After meeting Ciri’s mother Pavetta (Gaia Mondadori), his curse of becoming a humanoid hedgehog was lifted as he fell in love with her. Notably, Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu) tells him the prophecy of Ithlinne, Duny overthrows the Usurper and the rest was history.
But it does remind me of Duny from The Witcher. pic.twitter.com/O6ctX4Xywb

Coming to White Flame's plan for Ciri, well, this is what Volume 2 of the Watcher Season 3 is expected to reveal. Although the White Flame is the father of Ciri, it has been shown in the series that he is her biggest enemy. It is pertinent to mention here that it was the White Flame who murdered Queen Francesca’s infant daughter.
